Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
1. Who we are
Michelle Alba ("we"), the author of this blog, is the controller of the database of information collected on this website ("the site"), within the meaning of Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, 1981 ("the Law"), including Amendment 13.
This policy explains what information we collect, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and what rights you have.
2. What we collect
Information you give us: when you fill in a form on the site — your name, e-mail and message.
You are not legally required to give us any information. Without an e-mail address, though, we cannot get back to you.
Visit statistics: the site itself counts which pages were viewed and which site you came from. Only the page address and the referring site are stored — no cookies, no IP address and nothing that identifies you.
3. Newsletter
A person who subscribes gives an e-mail address and, if they choose, a name. Subscribing happens only with explicit consent (section 30A of the Communications (Telecommunications and Broadcasting) Law, 1982); the time and the wording of the consent are kept. The data is used only to send the updates.
Every e-mail has an unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing nothing more is sent. You can also ask to have your details deleted completely — by e-mail at ferrency@gmail.com.
The site keeps one cookie to recognise someone who has already subscribed, so we don't ask them again. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
4. Reading on the site
The site counts how many times each chapter is opened — a number only, with no name, no IP address and no cookie. Where you stopped reading and the reader's display (size, background) are kept only in your own browser (localStorage) and are not sent to us.
5. Reviews sent through the site
When you send a review, we keep the name and text you wrote. After our approval they are published on the site as sent (we may choose not to publish). You may ask at any time to remove a review you wrote — ferrency@gmail.com.
6. Why we use it
To get back to you and handle your enquiry, to provide the service you asked for, to improve the site and to meet our legal obligations.
We will not send you advertising without your explicit and separate consent, as section 30A of the Communications (Telecommunications and Broadcasting) Law, 1982 requires.
7. Who receives it
Only service providers who work for us and on our behalf ("holders"): website and database hosting, and e-mail delivery. They are bound to keep the information confidential.
Some providers store information on servers outside Israel. Such transfers are made under the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 2001.
The site sends the provider of its template a technical version check: the site's address and the browser type only — no IP address and nothing that identifies you.
Beyond that we will not share information, unless the law, a court order or a competent authority requires it.
8. Chatting with the site's sales agent
In the corner of the site you can write to an AI sales agent (the SHio Alive service), not a person. The conversation starts only when you send a first message.
The messages you write, the page address and the conversation language are passed to the conversation provider ElevenLabs and the language model it runs, to answer you, and are kept by them under their own privacy policy. If you leave a name and phone number, the SHio Alive service stores them and e-mails them to the site owner, only so they can get back to you.
If you tap the microphone, your browser turns your speech into text with its own speech-recognition service; the recording itself is not passed to the site.
So that the agent talks about what interests you, the chat remembers in your browser (localStorage) which pages and products you looked at and for how long — this stays on your device and reaches the agent only inside a conversation you started.
Conversation transcripts are kept by SHio Alive for up to 90 days, to check the quality of the answers and that prices are right, and are then deleted. If you ask for a reminder or for the answer to a discount request by email, your email address is kept only for that, and a reminder is sent once only.
Don't write card details, ID numbers or passwords in the chat. Using the chat is optional.
9. Cookies, statistics and advertising
If the site owner has connected Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel, they load only after you click «Accept» in the cookie notice. They store cookies in your browser and send Google, Meta or TikTok (whichever is connected) a browser identifier, the pages you visited and actions on the site (such as sending an enquiry), to measure how the site is used and to show relevant ads. These companies also use this information under their own privacy policies.
If you click «Decline», they do not load. You can change your decision at any time via «Cookie settings» at the bottom of the site; withdrawing consent deletes these cookies from your browser.
10. Security
We act under the Privacy Protection (Data Security) Regulations, 2017: the site is encrypted (HTTPS), the admin area is password-protected and locks after repeated failed logins, and access to information is limited to those who need it. No security is perfect, but we take the accepted measures to protect the information.
11. How long we keep it
As long as it is needed for the purposes above or as long as the law requires, and then it is deleted.
12. Your rights
To see the information held about you (section 13 of the Law); to ask for information that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date to be corrected or deleted (section 14); and to ask to be removed from a direct-marketing list (section 17F). We will reply within 30 days.
You may also complain to the Privacy Protection Authority at the Ministry of Justice. EU residents also have their rights under the GDPR.
13. Minors
The site is not intended for collecting information from minors under 18 without a parent's consent. If we learn that such information was collected, we will delete it.
14. Contact and changes to this policy
For any privacy question or request: ferrency@gmail.com.
We may update this policy. The binding version is the one on the site; the date of the last update is at the top of the page.
15. Reader account
Whoever opens a reader account gives an e-mail, a name and a password (kept only encrypted) — or signs in with a Google account, and then Google passes us only the name, the e-mail and the account's id (no password and nothing else). The account keeps which book and chapter you stopped at, so you can carry on from any device.
You can delete the account yourself on the «My account» page — together with all saved places.
This is sample wording that comes with the site template, and the site owner has not yet confirmed it. The site owner publishes this document in their own name and is solely responsible for its content and for the site's compliance with the law, including accessibility requirements: they must have it checked by their own lawyer and adapted to the business's activity, appoint an accessibility coordinator and have the site checked by a certified accessibility professional. This document is not legal advice. The template provider (SHio) is not a party to it and is not responsible for its content. For questions, see the contact page.
