About the book
Journalist Vanessa Giannini is suspected of murdering Patrizia di Orsi. Forced to start her own investigation, she uncovers strange facts tying her to the case — a case that, it turns out, reaches back to the Middle Ages…
Vanessa comes back from intensive care a different woman: she sees through walls, hears other people's thoughts and remembers nothing of what happened to her on the other side. The detective has a week; she has no alibi. And a 16th-century portrait of a di Orsi woman shows the same silver streak as the wig found beside the victim.
The investigation leads from autumn Rome to the di Orsi castle, where the women of one family have died a violent death every second generation.
